NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. Neuro refers to your neurology, Linguistic refers to language and Programming refers to how the neural language functions. In other words, NLP is the language of your mind. By learning NLP, you learn and understand the language patterns of your mind.
HISTORY OF NLP
NLP was originated by John Grinder (A linguistic) and Richard Bandler (A mathematician and Gestalt Therapist). They developed this model after the research of the operational patterns from three of the best therapists at the time: Virginia Satir, American author, social worker, and internationally esteemed family therapist. Fritz Perls, who developed a form of psychotherapy known as Gestalt Therapy. Milton Erickson, famous medical hypnotist, founder of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
From these three different operational patterns, Grinder and Bandler modelled their methods and developed tools and techniques and formally gave a name to their contribution which is widely known today as NLP which symbolizes the relationship between mind, language and organism.
